Evermere

The Basics

Location: Eastern coast of Umberland, bordering Umber City

Owner: The Vernay Family

Hours:  24/7. Evermere moves at the pace of breath, seasons, and care. Mornings arrive mist-soft and green. Days unfold slowly, deliberately. Nights settle in with crickets, candlelight, and the sound of rain tending the land.

Vibe: Healing, lush, and deeply alive. Evermere is where Umberland exhales. It is not hurried, not loud, not ornamental. This is a city built to hold grief, joy, birth, endings, and everything in between.

Nickname: The Mere. Folks say it gently, like a promise. Outsiders call it The Green, but those who live here know it’s more than color. It’s care.

Pride Point: They feed and heal the island. From soil to soul, Evermere sustains Umberland in ways that don’t always show, but are always felt. When something breaks—body, spirit, community—this is where it’s brought to be tended, not judged.

Who Gathers Here: Healers, midwives, herbalists, caretakers, elders, grief-workers, growers, and those who need rest more than answers. People come here when they’re tired of performing and ready to be held.

Atmosphere: Green and breathing. Humid air heavy with petrichor, magnolia, moss, and honeysuckle. Porches wrapped in vines. Wind chimes speaking softly. Rain that feels intentional. Homes hum with kitchens, gardens, altars, and quiet conversations. Nature is never background. It’s family.

Unspoken Rule: Slow down. Evermere will not rush for you. If you don’t listen—to the land, to your body, to the people—you’ll miss what’s being offered.

Rivalries: Gentle friction with Golden Bay (joy versus patience). Quiet side-eye toward The Bridge, whose rigidity feels foreign to Evermere’s restorative rhythms.

Shade They Throw: “All that gold and stone don’t mean nothing if you don’t know how to tend to people.”
