His Top 13
Name Meaning
Osier, uncommon, earthy, quietly elegant. The name is associated with willow—something deeply rooted and resilient, capable of bending without breaking. It gives him this lovely combination of strength and flexibility, which feels especially fitting for a man whose power doesn't need to announce itself.
Bayo, a Yoruba name element associated with joy, often found in names expressing the arrival or experience of joy. I love this sitting in the middle because it warms Osier beautifully. There’s something tender tucked between the more grounded weight of his first and last names.
Rockwell, sturdy, established, masculine. It brings stone underneath all that softness. Osier Bayo has movement and warmth; Rockwell puts his feet back on the ground.
Nickname Meaning
O, Short. Familiar. Intimate. No elaborate origin needed—O feels like the natural shortening that happened among the people closest to him and never left. And I still love the social distinction it creates. Everybody can know Osier Rockwell. But hearing somebody walk up and casually say, “What’s good, O?” Mmm. They know that man.
