Graymont

The Basics

Location: Southwestern coast of Umberland

Owner: The Baptiste Family

Hours: 24/7. Always alive, but never the same. Dawn finds it hushed and fog-wrapped, smoke curling from chimneys in the hills. Afternoons pulse with movement: markets, music, and memory stirred into every street. Nights? That’s when The Mont glows ember-gold, fog thickening as neon and lantern light ripple across alleys, clubs, and stoops.

Vibe: Gritty, fog-draped, memory-soaked. Here, passion and pain live close together. It’s the emotional pulse of Umberland. The city that feels first and hardest.

Nickname: The Mont. Folks say “I’m Mont-born” like it’s inked into their bones. Outsiders sometimes call it “The Smoke,” half in awe, half in warning.

Pride Point: They birth the art, the rhythm, the revelation. Graymont doesn’t just move with the times; it makes them.

Who Gathers Here: Artists, healers, hustlers, visionaries. The ones carrying grief and joy in equal measure. If you need to remember who you are, or forget everything for a night, you’ll find both in The Mont.

Atmosphere: Layered and alive. Downtown hums with rain-slick streets, neon, and memory. Neighborhoods glow amber in the hills, porches warm with stories and music. Forest edges hold estates flickering like embers through mist. Fog, firelight, and ancestral breath weave the city into something sacred.

Unspoken Rule: Feel everything. Here, numbness is the only sin.

Rivalries: Friendly tension with The Bay (“light vs. shadow siblings”). Also side-eyed by The Roux, who think Mont folks are “too messy, too emotional.”

Shade They Throw: “At least we feel somethin’. Not like ya’ll hollow in The Roux.”
